Crosswalk
The artwork Crosswalk revisits the use of founds objects, fabrication and neon lighting to add to the Retool series of sculptures. The sign is that of a school crosswalk – poignant on many levels in our society in the 21st century.

Ready-Made Dialog
8 ft. x 6 ft. x 2.5 ft.; wood, porcelain, neon, and metal
A medley of one part carnival ride, one part “how’s the weather”, and a pinch of social parody inspired this work. This work began an exploration into artificial light sources and their incorporation into this and subsequent sculptures. Activated space and implied movement have been heavily emphasized in this design. It is larger than life with varied surfaces from a recycled shiplap wood surface to steel inlaid tracks, yellow neon, and two porcelain urinals. It is at once playful, bizarre, sophisticated, and suggestive.

Moments After the Fall
8 ft. x 7 ft. – Neon and wood
The neon for this artwork was appropriated from discarded commercial signage, none of which had figurative elements. The discarded and refurbished elements came from a Hallmark storefront sign, a Taco Bell sign, and a Red Dog beer sign. There is a certain irony here that shouldn’t be missed.
